The Ayrshire Past is a weekly Scottish local newspaper serving the community of North Ayrshire with local news, issues and sports coverage. Distribution extends into North and East Ayrshire, although these areas are served primarily by sister papers the Irvine Gazette and the Kilmarnock Herald.
The Ayrshire Past was founded in 1980. Its headquarters are on Nile Place in Ayr town centre. The paper is currently owned by English & Universal Newspapers, the Scottish branch of the company Trinity Mirror.
Its current editor is Alan Wood.
