[edit] Citations
It says that we need to cite our sources, but we are not sure how to do that, and the page here explaining is not very helpful.-andre1010 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.155.197.198 (talk • contribs).
- Start here: WP:CITE. If the reliable source being cited is a webpage, the simplest way is to provide a link to that page after the relevant passage. Just place the URL inside single brackets like this: [http://www.reliablesource.com]. Additional citation methods are discussed here: WP:CITE#Citation_styles.
- The biggest problem with this article is that it sounds like it was written in the first or second person, and not in an encyclopedic style suitable for a biographical article. This should have information from reliable sources, and not just be anecdotal. --MichaelZimmer (talk) 19:11, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
okay, I have figured out how to cite thanks to you, but how often should I do it? after every statement, or what? also, I kinda understand what you are saying about the form, but could you give me an example out of the article and tell me how to fix it?-Andre1010
- Ok, its not so much a matter of having each section cited back to her own website (although this brings up issues I note below in Copyvio section). Its more about statement like this which are not properly cited by reliable sources: "When the second room was announced that they were safe, Ayla was filled with excitment and relief." (not to mention such a statement is not really of encyclopedic value) --MichaelZimmer (talk) 19:35, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyvio
Um, looking that site, are these sentences & paragraphs simply copied from her website? If so, we have ourselves a copyright violation. (also, please sign your comments by typing ~~~~) --MichaelZimmer (talk) 19:26, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- some are. the other person who helped make this was unaware of such infractions. Tell me how to correct and i will do so. (user:andre1010)
- We cannot accept copyright-protected material. Any content cut/pasted from a website must be removed immediately, and rewritten. --MichaelZimmer (talk) 19:35, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
okay, I am pretty sure I removed all the copyrighted material. Tell me if I missed anything.(If we cut and pasted from another wikipedia article, is that okay?)- User:Andre1010
okay, I think I got everything. Could you double check to make sure? Userandre1010

- No problem. The beauty of this being a wiki is that we can work on improving the article's collaboratively. --MichaelZimmer (talk) 23:06, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Cool. Do you know how to fix the problems the page is telling us we have. There are 3 boxes saying there is something wrong.~~Idol_fan200

Hello! I would just like to say this is HFNYChick from ayla-brown.org. Hi Andre...and IdolFan! I was wondering if there is anything I can do for this site...and what 'Cookies' are??? It said when I was trying to create a account that 'cookies' were needed, and that I had them disabled. Let me know here, or on the forum! :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.109.116.148 (talk • contribs).

[edit] NPOV & Cleanup
This article needs A LOT of work!! Remember that this needs to be encyclopedic, not a site "selling" Ayla Brown. To see Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View requirement for articles please start at WP:NPOV.
Examples of NPOV in this article
- Ayla’s debut album is packed with potential singles
- This put her in the amazing stat of 6th place leading scorer in the US, male & female!!!
Other than NPOV, this article needs cleanup badly. Many grammatical mistakes, typos, redundancies, non-notable information, lack of references, and other errors need to be corrected. If these aren't corrected, it is possible that this article may be up for deletion, even if Ayla Brown meets the notability guidelines for wikipedia.
Please also refer to What Wikipedia is Not. Thanks! Happy editing!

I agree, and I made some adjustments. DO you think that is good, or should I edit it more? User:andre1010
- It still needs a lot of work. It needs to be from a neutral point of view. Check out the article for Nikko Smith for a higher quality article. Please refer to Wikipedia's guide to writing better articles. --Benwildeboer 22:58, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I am continuing to make changes. What do you see that still looks bad? User:andre1010
This is Jim Mcgregor, Ayla Brown's producer, and manager from the record label... Everything on this site must be written in third person, as Ayla is not allowed to have anything to do with information or promotion that pertains to her Recording Career, NCAA bylaws forbid it. I've been reading through everything, and taking all of this in, as this is fairly new to us. We used several other sources on wikipedia as references,(will not name) and figured it was OK to enter in charts, successes, and what's happening currently, since that is what we saw on the other wiki sites. we will adhere to the neutral rule, and clean the information to the best of our ability. The previous information that was here, was from Ayla's official website. We wrote everything on there, and own the copyrights to everything on her site...are we not able to put this information here? and as far as putting in reviews, is that not acceptable? I saw reviews on other wiki site pages. if they are allowed we need to confirm the source, correct? if we can not put in the reviews, are we allowed to put the sources the reviews came from, as I see it, that is part of her biography, and discography, getting validation from respected sources. We do not even know who started this article, the information should never have been written in 1st person. It violates Ayla's NCAA by-laws. I tried to go through it and fix typo's that were entered in by other people not affiliated with the record label, and some from myself. i also edited the tag. I will pay close attention to all of this, as it has recently been brought to my attention.
I would appreciate your input on these matters....
thank-you
Jim Mcgrergor / Double Deal Records
so, um is it okay now? userandre1010
