Aylesbury Music Centre

Aylesbury Music Centre (AMC) is an arm of the Buckinghamshire Music Service, based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England.
Aylesbury Music Centre comprises a team of 47 teachers who provide specialist music education to 64 schools across Aylesbury Vale. A programme of 'Wider Opportunities' is delivered to Primary schools across Aylesbury Vale - enabling access to Instrumental/Vocal provision to ALL children in a given year-group at Key Stage 2. Programmes include whole class violin, recorder, African drums, and samba. Each programme includes vocal work and allied skills. The Centre runs more than 40 weekly evening/Saturday classes at Centre bases (Aylesbury and Winslow) - including pre-school music, symphony orchestras, wind bands, brass bands, jazz bands, string orchestras, choirs, guitar ensembles, percussion ensembles, and chamber music. The AMC Dance Band is one of the country's leading youth big bands, as evidenced by a large number of awards from various national competitions. The Centre's senior ensembles regularly reach the Finals of the National Festival of Music for Youth. In recent years, Finalists have included AMC Concert Band, AMC Flute Choir, AMC Dance Band, AMC Brass Band, AMC Chamber Ensembles & AMC Youth Orchestra.
The Centre runs an outstanding Professional Concerts Series, and an extensive programme of workshops, A level curriculum support, theory classes, advanced aural, and masterclasses. The Centre's purpose-built premises opened in 2001.
