Maharaja Raja Ramaraja Patmanabha Dasa Vanchipala Sri Sir Ayilyam Thirunal Bala Rama Varma II , GCSI, CIE, Kaiser-i-Hind, (14 March 1832-30 May 1880) was the King of Travancore during the period 1860-1880. He succeeded his uncle Uthradom Marthanda Varma II, brother of Maharajah Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma and was the grandson of Maharani Gowri Lakshmi Bayi.
He was born on 14th March 1832 to Maharani Gowri Rukmini Bayi, Senior Rani of Attingal and only daughter of Regent Maharani Gowri Lakshmi Bayi.He was invested as heir apparent with the title of Eliya Raja in 1847 and ascended the throne of on 7th September 1860. He passed away in 1880 and was succeeded by his brother and youngest son of Maharani Gowri Rukmini Bayi, Visakham Thirunal. He was married to Panapillai Amma Srimathi Lakshmi Pillai Kalyani Kutty Pillai Kochamma Nagercoil Ammaveedu (1839-1909), daughter of Nadavarambath Kunju Krishna Menon, a former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cochin. She was born at Mukundapuram in Thrissur, Cochin and adopted into the Nagercoil Ammaveedu prior to her marriage to the Maharajah. She was known as Nagercoil Ammachi and was the author of Rasa Krida, Satya Panchakam, Pativrataya Panchakam, Ambarishacharitram and other Sanskrit works.
