Ayakudi is a panchayat town in Dindigul district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Ayakudi had a population of 23,410. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Ayakudi has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 59% of the males and 41% of females literate. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

This place is very near by to tamilnadu's one of the famous temple city palani, which is very near to the hillstation kodaikkanal.
