Hey Axver, great work on those locomotive articles. Just one thing, I moved A class to A class (locomotive) and the same for the Original A class - because just 'A class' is too broad for the thousands of articles we have on WP. In your article Onerahi Branch you say Whangarei was a city in the early 1880s. I don't think so, & even today it is not technically one - it is run by a District Council. GrahamBould 12:36, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Heya there. I feel that the old one was rather hard to follow and the dates were all over the place -- i.e. something that happened in the 1880's was explained before explaining something that happened in the 1870's. However I do agree that the lists is not the best way -- perhaps it could be converted back to paragraphs later on and the old information added back in, as long as it is directly relevant to the NAL.

I've never heard of this service before, and I suspect that it's not operating at the moment anyhow - the route lists the "Old Auckland Railway Station" as the start of the journey, which to me seems a bit strange. --Lholden 02:38, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Hey man, thanks for getting in touch about this. I guess you're right.. its hard to know at what level articles really start to need references. So yeah no prob.'s about removing the tag from other articles with very basic info. in future I'll discriminate a bit more ( the help section probably has more info about these sort of issues to so I'll have a look at that). Yeah, I was on there under the name "Napkin". I thought your name sounded familiar (although I couldn't remember if it was from EotF or U2-vertigo-tour). I was actually hoping that you knew what had happened to it. One day I went on with no problems, and then the next I couldn't access it. It's been like that to this day, so I guess it got shut down because of all of the uploadings. You're actually the first old member I've been lucky enough to get in touch with. Ah right, I think I remember you - though it's certainly been a while. I'd stopped being active before EotF went down, so I'm honestly not sure what happened. I've a sneaking suspicion that the owner just got tired of running it/paying for webspace. One of my friends may know for sure; Daniel, bono_man2002 on Interference, no idea what he went by on EotF but I think he was around until the end and knew the webmaster. I'll have to ask him next time we catch up. I don't think the downloads would really be a factor, given how successful places like U2Torrents and U2Start are. All I can say is that it's amazing that you've been able to find out so many of those setlists. It must have taken you absolute ages. You wouldn't believe how much of a help it's been though. MelicansMatkin 22:00, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

It's not easy, believe me! The early stuff is absolute hell. Even when you can find a newspaper review of a gig, you're lucky if half the song titles are remotely accurate. I think I finally managed to clear up what demos were recorded when, though! I know they're not strictly setlists, but I put it on U2VT anyway just to try to counter the misinformation floating around online. Setlists nowadays are dead easy though, with being able to listen to virtually every concert via someone's mobile phone streamed online. - Axver 12:37, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I was randomly browsing U2-vertigo-tour and I saw all of the entries for The First Time. I think that there was an occassion where Bono performed the song solo during the Zooropa recording sessions, which isn't listed. IIRC, it was on Spanish radio although I'm not sure what the date was. I have the clip on my computer, and it's definitely an early perfroamce before tha lbum came out. Bono explains in between verses about some of the lyrics, and some of the lyrics are pretty different. What I find most interesting is that he sings the song in a higher scale, a la Lemon. I have actually heard about the performance you mention; I understand Bono did it on Mexican radio at some point in November 1992 (i.e. when the band was there for four ZooTV concerts). I've been meaning to add it, to tell the truth, but it slipped my mind. Furthermore, I've never actually heard it for myself, so I would certainly appreciate a copy! Thank you muchly for that. Don't worry about the delay - better late than never. :) And wow, that version is even more different than I expected. What a shame a proper studio recording along these lines doesn't exist. It's amusing how Bono provides somewhat of a running commentary throughout the song. Now I just need to track down enough details about this performance so that I can actually add it to U2VT. It's definitely an unusual take, isn't it? I really like it though; the changed lyrics, the falsetto voice, and just Bono on the acoustic guitar. I was looking through all of my U2 songs on iTunes, and I realized that I actually have quite a few rarities of live performances. Would you like me to send you copies of some? Some that I think you may be interested in are:

1. the only live performance of "Like A Song..."
2. the only recording of "Acrobat" from tour rehearsels, which was actually played acoustically and segued into Zoo Station
3. the only full-band live recording of "So Cruel" from tour rehearsels
4. a near soundcheck-quality full-band performance of "Mothers of the Disappeared"
5. all three times that "Zooropa" was played live

Hi Axver! Instead of trying to measure a new tunnel by collecting lots of measuring devicess, the original editor was likely from those parts of the world which spell meter / metre differently! You could always use the Convert template which, as well as providing automatic links to the correct articles on the units of measure, also provides alternative measurements for those readers from locales where metrics are not common. -- Matthew25187 (talk) 12:13, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
