Welcome to Wikipedia! Here are cookies to welcome you!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm RyRy5, recent changes patroller and part of the welcoming committee. I've been editing here for a while now and I decided to welcome you. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any questions you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} and your question on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer. Here are a few good links for newcomers like you:

If you think you need a tutor, you should consider adoption by an experienced user. I hope you enjoy editing here and being Wikipedian! By the way, you should always sign your name on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. If you have any questions, see the help pages or you can ask an experienced user like me, on my talkpage. Again, welcome to Wikipedia and I hope you like it here!--RyRy5 talk 17:15, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Questions

Do you have any questions about wikipedia?--RyRy5 talk 02:35, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Here are the answers to your questions:
  1. No, if someone creates a subpage under your name you will not find out unless they tell you or if you check Special:Prefixindex/Axecution.
  2. Before I answer, how do you want your signature to look?
  3. Put your answers for the test next to each question.

Does this help?--RyRy5 talk 02:48, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

I'll grade it. Also, visit the program's homepage and get your userbox!RyRy5 talk 03:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Done! Go to recent test scores for your grades here.--RyRy5 talk 03:19, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

There are many ways to find vandalism actually. There is alot of vandalism if you keep on checking recent changes. You can learn more about vandalism here and you can learn how to stop it here. There are many ways to stop it but reverting is one of the easiest. Any questions?--RyRy5 talk 16:25, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Signature

The below is regarding your comment at user talk:RyRy5#Vacation.

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Nothing444 16:01, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mainspace

Hello, there. Mainspace edits are edits made to articles (North Carolina); not templates (Template:Smile), not userpages (User:Axecution), not talk pages (Talk:Carlos Boozer), and not Wikipedia (Wikipedia:WikiProject M*A*S*H). Hope that helps! B110 communicate (that means talk) 16:14, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I see Basketball already hit this spot. Oh, I'm on vacation tommorrow, not today.--RyRy5 talk 19:19, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Testing?

Do you want to take tests from my Adoption Program or do not want to take tests. I do not want you to feel uncofortable taking tests so it's your choice. Thanks.--RyRy5 talk 00:23, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User:RyRy5/Adoption_Program

Hi, I noticed your name here. I would encourage you to not have anything to do with this adoption program. It was created by a very inexperienced editor who really shouldn't be offering to adopt others. If you need help, you can get it just by putting {{help|Whatever your question is}} on your talk page. If you want do be "adopted" by an actual experienced editor, you can also try over at Wikipedia:Adoption. Friday (talk) 18:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, do you still want to be my adoptee. I'm probably going to close down the program, and maybe only keep the classroom. If you don't think I'm experienced enough, it's OK to tell me.--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy? 18:18, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, just remember that you can always keep in touch with me. Good luck!--RyRy5 Got something to say? 05:19, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Adopt offer

I noticed your comment on RyRy5's talk page, and just wanted to let you know that I (an experienced editor) would be happy to adopt you. Let me know! Cheers! - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 23:00, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Re the edit here, the reason it was reverted is that Wikipedia for clarity purposes uses the International Phonetic Alphabet for such entries, using the {{PronEng}} template to link to the above page. Ad-hoc pronunciation guides may differ between speakers or accents (for instance someone speaking in American or Australian English may pronounce the same word two different ways). The edit was reverted because the entry had a correct IPA pronunciation and that was removed and replaced with an ad-hoc ("My" could be pronounced "mee" by some speakers, especially from a Polish or Spanish background, and "Que" "kway" - I would have used "kyoo"). Hope this helps. Orderinchaos 00:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
