[edit] Mode 7
The readers might think that the "vertical stretch" effect (e.g. in the 1st level) is the Mode 7 effect - but in fact that's not the case. The games doesn't use Mode 7 very often; one instance though is the 'walker' boss with the machine gun (Mode 7 is used to rotate its inclination up or down). 84.182.73.106 00:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Its not? Thought it was, I'll have to take a more careful look at the game next time. If that truly is the case then you're right, the game doesn't use mode7 quite that often.
[edit] Is there a REAL working cheat for this game?
I've been sort of looking everywhere for the cheat codes to finish Axelay, made by Konami, on the SNES. It is definitely a Japanese version of a Japanese SNES.
I've been looking on various cheat pages where you change the level from where you start at the title screen. It is said on some websites that the number indicated on the bottom left is the level number where the player starts. But the option does not seem to be present. And pressing X after START has been pressed during gameplay didn't make any observable changes.
I tried the Konami code on page after I've the paused game and input it the directions by using the D-pad, that didn't work. I've using the L-R buttons to try any possible other combinations to follow the code, and that didn't work either.
Does that mean the K-code is not present in Axelay, at all??? Is it possible that there are variations or "versions" of Axelay made in Japan?

(Also, I would really like to finish this game!)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Axelay SNES box art.jpg
Image:Axelay SNES box art.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
