[edit] Other encryption programs
Is the other encryption programs section still relevant? All the programs and many more are listed in Category: Cryptographic software. A similar list was removed from TrueCrypt and CrossCrypt because they are both listed in Disk encryption software and Category: Cryptographic software. Kasperd 08:45, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- That would make sense; it's pretty pointless
[edit] Strongest encryption?
The article says it supports AES-128, but TrueCrypt supports AES-256. Does that not imply that TrueCrypt provides stronger encryption? Regardless, it's an unsourced claim.Fdgfds 02:35, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the list of features was also unsourced, not to mention promotional, so I removed that too. It's not clear to me that this is really a notable topic. — Matt Crypto 05:19, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- It is likely that TrueCrypt is stronger, but the choice of cipher is not everything. You could make a bad encryption mode based on a good cipher, in which case the end result could be weaker. Correct usage of AES-128 could be stronger than incorrect usage of AES-256. I'm not implying that TrueCrypt does it wrong and AxCrypt does it right (more likely they are both making different mistakes in their encryption modes). Kasperd 22:27, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
