Caption: Mission Point, New Guinea. November 9, 1945. Jemadar (Lieutenant) Chint Singh (a.k.a. Chindt Singh) of the Indian Army at an identification parade, indicating a Japanese soldier who had mistreated Singh while he was a prisoner of war, for the Australian war crimes commission. Japanese forces used many Indian Army personnel as forced labour in New Guinea and neighbouring islands .
