AWM Caption: AUSTRALIA. 1924-07-24. WING COMMANDER S. J. GOBLE AND FLIGHT LIEUTENANT I. E. MCINTYRE (ROYAL NAVAL AIR SERVICE) SITTING ON THE SHOULDERS OF WELL-WISHES AFTER COMPLETING THE FIRST FLIGHT ROUND THE AUSTRALIAN CONTINENT. THE FLIGHT IN A FAIREY SEAPLANE COVERED 7,186 NAUTICAL MILES AND WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN TWENTY DAYS OF ACTUAL FLYING, AN OUTSTANDING FEAT IN AVIATION.
