Awer

Awer refers to the local community of hunter-gatherer living in Lamu District and Ijara District of north-eastern Kenya. They live in the Boni forest, including the Boni National Reserve. According to the population census of 1999 there are around 2000 Awer living in Kenya. However, their tribe and their language are not officially registered in Kenya.
