AWA Superstars United States Championship
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The AWA Superstars United States Championship was a secondary championship in the current AWA Superstars of Wrestling promotion.
The AWA Superstars United States Championship was split from the ZERO1-MAX United States Openweight Championship after Pro Wrestling ZERO1 left the AWA in December of 2007. AWA Superstars pulled current champion Ricky Landell from ZERO1 and awarded him the United States Championship. AWA Superstars claimed that the title is a revival of the 1950s United States championship, as recognized by the NWA's Chicago office and, later, the original AWA.
On March 29, 2008, reigning United States champion Ricky Landell defeated Keith Walker for the AWA Superstars Fighting World Championship, at which point the United States title was abandoned. [1]
