[edit] Wrong religious affiliation

She is from a devout Roman Catholic family and got married in the Roman Catholic Church, not any other faith. There is a mix up with Britney Spears. Please rectify. Thanks.

[edit] brother+sister

as we know she has a brother (i think his name is Matt or something like that) and a sister as well.. any ideas how to add those information? --Darth NormaN (talk) 16:13, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

If you find a source for their names, a sentence such as "She has two siblings, A and B" or "She has an elder brother, A, and a younger sister, B" might fit in the first paragraph of the background section. Ariadne55 (talk) 16:22, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
imdb says "She has a younger sister, Michelle and an older brother, Matthew", but like Wikipedia imdb can be edited by anyone. Does this count as reliable? Here is another source which confirms the information. Think outside the box 17:25, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
IMDB is usually not used as a source for the reasons you stated. I'm not sure about tv-now.com. However, I found a People cite and that's usually strong enough proof for unremarkable claims such as this. Plus, it has a picture, which is always a nice feature in a link. I'll add the info now. Good find Ariadne! Think outside the box 19:58, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 14 million

In the Let Go section, it says that it sold over 14 million copies and then says two lines later that it sold over 16 million copies. It has sold over 16 million, so could this be shown please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Avril rulez (talk • contribs) 13:16, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

I've removed it as it was unsourced and wasn't tied to a date. I've also added some sources for 16 million. Think outside the box 09:47, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Avril and the drums

Avril can't play drums. In the last video (The Best Damn Thing), she is behind a drum, but he can't play them. She simply crush rhythmically and out of playback, and all the world can to make them. --79.22.152.91 (talk) 16:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh yes she can. Maybe she's not as professional as a real drummer but she can definitely play drums and does a pretty god job. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUydPi-MyCs Charea (talk)

She can play them! On 'The Best Damn Tour' she has played them for 'Runaway' and 'Hey Mickey' and she also played them on her 2004/5 'Bonez Tour'. Avril got her first drum kit when she was 2 years old. Please get your facts right in future. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Avril rulez (talk • contribs) 18:43, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Movie Role

Apparently Avril has landed a lead role in an upcoming movie. She told The London Paper, "I've got a film role coming up - something you wouldn't expect from me, something deep and dark." Sources: allheadlinenews.com, hollyscoop.com thelondonpaper.typepad.com I don't think there is enough here yet to include in the article, but its something to look out for. It's been added. D0762 (talk) 14:13, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] We need some criticism

I'd like to revive this discussion. This article is nowhere close to NPOV. Lavigne has generally had a lukewarm reception by critics. There are tons of reviews that indeed describe her as inauthentic, a 'poser' if you will, whit little musical relevance. This article should represent that. --Looskuh (talk) 23:37, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't think a criticism section adds much to the article. Any criticism that is worth noting can be added into the section to which it is most relevant. Having a whole section for it seems like you want to criticize her. D0762 (talk) 08:47, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Please show me WHERE the article does not fit the NPOV. also, do you think those articles you described as being receptions by critics are written in a NPOV? there is already a long passage about the plagiarism thing what else do you want? like "she was cooler before she got blonde" or what? i cant support that, sorry. --Darth NormaN (talk) 10:27, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

If you have some relevant critics from professionnal reviewers (not from yourself) which are frequent enough to be considered, then be my guest. Just don't start another useless discussion about her being called "punk" by the irresponsible media, or being called a "poser" by some morons who do not see the difference between her real music and some unjustified labels. And besides her music, I don't even know if we have the right to criticize anything. Simply because outside her artistic life, it's none of our business. Charea (talk) 10:42, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Concerning genres

Avril Lavigne works with more genres than pop rock, modern rock and punk pop, she also uses post grunge, teen pop, dance pop, alternative rock, piano rock, power ballad, soft rock, synthpop and rap rock aswell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seán Travers (talkcontribs) 15:31, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

sure but isn't it better to list the notable ones only? --Darth NormaN (talk) 16:59, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
