Avrohom Elyashiv

Rabbi Avrohom Elyashiv was the Av Beis Din of the city of Gomel and father of Rabbi Yosef Sholom Eliashiv. Studying under the Chofetz Chaim in Radin, and later in Dvinsk, he was the son-in-law of the famous Kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Eliyashiv, author of the Leshem Shevo V’Achlamah.

In 1924, he immigrated to Jerusalem along with his illustrious father-in-law, his wife Chaya Musha, and young son Yosef Shalom. There, he founded and led the yeshiva Tiferes Bochurim, where his son Rabbi Yosef Sholom still lectures.

He authored a Sefer by the name of Bikkurei Avrohom and was given Semicha by Rabbi Avraham Isaac Kook.

Rabbi Elyashiv's original family name remains unknown, since he adopted his wife’s family name to facilitate his immigration.
Among many, Rabbi Elyashiv gave an approbation to Nachlas Tzvi (a work by Meshulam Gross).
