[edit] Adelaide Meetup

You serious about this? You should really put some info on the WP:AWNB. Alphax τεχ 10:46, Mar 16, 2005 (UTC)

Avochelm, kust so you know, there's recently been more discussion here: Wikipedia:Meetup/Adelaide (and Alphax is right -- if there's some interest from enough Adelaideans, we should write a message on WP:AWNB). Cheers — Donama 06:05, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong page

Hello, you seem to have edited a test area I was working on: jeremykemp/image. See gesture. Shocker is kind of silly, but I did check usage elsewhere on the 'Net. Not my posting, btw. jk 01:57, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] tip referring to categories

Hi,

your user page To-do list currently has "[[Category:Adelaide O-Bahn|O-Bahn Interchanges]]". It looks like you might want to change it to "[[:Category:Adelaide O-Bahn|O-Bahn Interchanges]]" to refer to the category, instead of put your user page into it. Cheers, ScottDavis 14:09, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

LOL! Okay, thanks! Fixed now. --Avochelm 07:10, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hanged and Hung

With reference to your edit to HDQ. Meat is hung people are hanged: "The use of hanged is preferable to that of hung, when reference is had to death or execution by suspension, and it is also more common"[1] So I revertd your editPhilip Baird Shearer 18:52, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cockburn

Your edit of Cockburn, South Australia on 29 October 2005 had the comment Copied information from cockburn.org.au by the copyright holders. Did you mean "by permission of the copyright holders"? If so, could you please add a note about the permission to the talk page? Thanks. --Scott Davis Talk 13:06, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

The person who created that website is my associate. I copied that information to here while working for him.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Dirk_Meinhertz_Hahn_painting.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dirk_Meinhertz_Hahn_painting.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Adelaide O-Bahn, Modbury Interchange (overpass-northeast).jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Adelaide O-Bahn, Modbury Interchange (overpass-northeast).jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Longhair 12:50, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, appropriate changes have been made. --Avochelm 22:05, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Chopper-Read.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Chopper-Read.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 23:46, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
