[edit] Upgrade and relocation plans
In July 2007, ONTRACK, ARTA and Auckland City Council announced plans to relocate the Avondale platform from its current location to new site approximate 100m west, between the Crayford Street and St Jude Street level crossings, as part of the upgrade of this station. The new station site provides better connections with the Avondale town centre and creating a platform on a straight section of track, unlike the current platform which is on a large sharp curve.[2]
