Avner Strauss

Avner Strauss (Hebrew: אבנר שטראוס) is an Israeli singer song-writer and renowned guitarist. He is the founder of "Strauss Mifaaley Tarbut" company of national culture venues for Israeli students and pupils.

Started out as an avaunt guard guitarist in Jerusalem in the 70's, Strauss plays Jazz, Flamenco, Classical and Blues guitar, and has won multiple awards at the International Guitar Festivals. His published materials include mostly highly rated children music and poems, he has produced 3 audio CDs of original Hebrew songs including a live CD of Blues in Hebrew, as well as a CD and animated DVD of his original children's songs. Avner has also produced an instrumental guitar album that highlights his many different musical facets and playing styles.

His poems where published in various magazines and in the Jewish poetry anthology "Voices Within the Ark" along with poems by his grandfather Arie Ludwig Strauss and his great grandfather Martin Buber.

Avner Strauss resides today in the Israeli coastal town of Herzliya.
