[edit] Maine Meetup?

Greetings! My name is Garrett Fitzgerald, and I've lived in Brewer for the past year. I just thought I'd check in with the rest of the Maine Wikipedians to see if there was enough interest to start organizing a Wikipedia:Meetup somewhere in the state. If you're interested, drop me a note by email or userpage: if there's enough interest, I'll see about organizing a bit more formally. See you around!--SarekOfVulcan 07:02, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The Phrase That Pays Cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:The Phrase That Pays Cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:37, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non Admin Closures

Hey Auto, I was wondering what the policy is on non-admin AfD closures where the consensus is (non-controversially) delete. I thought that non-admin closures could only be preformed on AfDs that didn't require admin action, like a keep, merge or redirect. Let me know because if it's accepted behavior i could help close some of the AfD backlog.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 19:45, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

I actually did my first closure today so I was thinking about helping to clear the backlog, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a big bad line that gets crossed if you close one with a consensus for delete. However, after seeing the template you used to speedy tag the closures I think it will be okay as long as I haven't participated in the actual discussions I close.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 19:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
I thought I had read that. Glad I didn't pick up the cause, but I'm still looking for keeps, merges and redirects.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 20:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A.WOLF AfD

You seem to have left the "result" part of your closing of this AfD incomplete. I didn't want to step on any toes and fill it in myself, especially since I was the nominator. Thought you might want to know. —Hello, Control Hello, Tony 19:59, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

That sure would be nice to put up there, wouldn't it? (oops, and thanks). --Auto (talk / contribs) 20:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Closures

Please do not close AFDs as delete as a non-admin. Please see WP:DPR#NAC. A non-admin should only be closing clear keep consensuses. The guideline specifically says that non-admins may not close discussions as delete. Please do not continue to close AFDs as delete. Thanks, Metros (talk) 20:13, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

I have reversed your closure at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sir Alastair Dunnett‎. Your closure does not meet the speedy keep standards and it also falls outside the purview of Wikipedia:Non-admin closure. Metros (talk) 00:26, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, just FYI, I left you a few questions at your RfA, take you time answering them. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 23:09, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
