[edit] Backwards compatibility
- Like Autoconf, Automake can be quite hard to deal with because it is not entirely backwards compatible. For example, a project created with automake 1.4 will not necessarily work with automake 1.9.
If true, that's a pretty tough situation, considering that the entire purpose of autoconf and automake is portability. How likely is this to be a problem? - furrykef (Talk at me) 13:52, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Also, no similar statement is made at autoconf or GNU build system. I think this statement should have a citation at least. - furrykef (Talk at me) 13:55, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Extending
The article is quite solid but it could be extended a bit with specific information, i.e. what is done after "checking sane build tool". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.108.103.172 (talk) 02:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
