The Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (Autonomous University of Bucaramanga) is a private post-secondary education institution in Bucaramanga, Colombia. It was founded in 1952 under the name of Instituto Caldas. In 1956 the institution was recognized as a law school, and became a university under the current name in 1987. Administration, Law and Public Accounting are its oldest programs, although it currently offers 19 programs in a wide variety of fields.

Since its beginnings, the University has had as a guide the execution of its missions; a cultural one: the conservation and enrichment of the national culture; a scientist: the investigation and the progress of the science; a professional: the preparation of the experts and the technicians that it requires the society; an educational one: the student's integral formation and the development of their personality; a social one: the service to the community, the diffusion of sciences and the elevation of the patriotic and moral spirit. All this inspired by the freedom of teaching and research.

UNAB received the certification of Acreditación of international Quality granted by the Consejo Latinoamericano de Acreditación de la Educación en Periodismo, CLAEP that stands out the "execution of the norms of quality and excellence in the formation of journalists for the period 2006-2012" and it locates it like one of the ten best programs of Latin America.
