Automated bid managers (ABMs) are an advertising tool used to manage budgets on pay per click (PPC) campaigns. ADM's allow users to prioritize keywords listings and bids. Many ABM have time stamp controls as well a position monitors. ABM's are designed to allow a user to either maintain a certain position on a PPC list or keep to a specific budget. ABMs come in a variety of formats and can be customized to meet the scale of an application. Microsoft is in beta testing with an ABM that imports and exports directly to Excel.
ABMs are designed to maximize return on investment. So long as the system is properly monitored, and the long tails of the results are analyzed, ABMs are powerful marking tools.
