Auto Trader is an automotive sales website and classified magazine located in many countries, and is owned by the Trader Media Group. It began as a print publication in 1977, and has since expanded into Ireland, Holland, Italy, Malaysia, South Africa, and the U.S.

Separate magazines are published by regions, as designated by the company. An advertisement is generally shown in both the magazine and the website. The website allows users to search for private and trade advertisements for used cars by proximity to a UK postcode.

The founder of Auto Trader in the UK was John Madejski, who went on to take over Reading Football Club in 1991. The Founder of Auto Trader (Trader Publishing)in the United States,(America)was Stuart W. Arnold. Auto Trader was started by Arnold in the state of Florida, then went nationwide. Years later he sold the Company to Cox Media.
