Is this really necessary? Seems to me like a category serves this purpose better.--cj | talk 10:17, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

  • I have updated the template on Australian crime to be a footer - perhaps it might be more useful and less intrusive than this one, if people want a template.--A Y Arktos 08:43, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Is it okay with everyone if I change the image on this template to this? - Nat Krause(Talk!) 05:49, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

No. Not only is it inappropriate, its use would contravene the fair use policy.--cj | talk 04:07, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Ouch, sort of a double whammy. - Nat Krause(Talk!) 04:14, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] How appropriate is this template?

See Alan Bond. The use of this template on that article seems inappropriate, considering the image used in it, and the list of links to things like serial killers and rapists which follows it (the list does not include a link to any white collar crimes, I should note). - Mark 08:14, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Ditto for Glenn Wheatley. Cs1987 23:42, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't see anything wrong with the image. "White collar" crims seem to appear under the link to Category:Australian criminals--ZayZayEM 23:38, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Who are we to decide which article gets the criminal tag and which doesn't? It should be an automatic thing. If the person gets convicted of the crime they get the crim infobox. If there has been no conviction, then no infobox. Alan Bond (businessman), Glenn Wheatley and Rodney Adler all went to jail after committing crimes. Why should they not be given the criminal tag? Their glorious lives outside of crime should not influence the fact that they are now famous for their crimes. Lester 23:04, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

I propose that Template:Australian crime should substitute for Template:Australian criminals. No image - thus much more neutral and I think appropriate for convicted criminals. I have raised the issue at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Australia#Criminals_.26_Sex_Offenders and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australian crime - I think it should be discussed either here or on the Wikiproject talk page.--Matilda talk 23:28, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
