Under a federal act of parliament the APS is a "entity" of the Australian Commonwealth (The Australian Protective Service Amendment Bill 2002)
[edit] Merger Proposal
I propose that Adam Dunning be merged into this article, because:
- All the key information from the Dunning article is already included here;
- This AFPPS article provides a much better context for Dunning's murder as part of a peacekeeping mission than the standalone article does;
- Dunning is notable for one tragic event. Per WP:NOT#NEWS and the general notability guidelines for people, this is not sufficient to justify a standalone article; and
- Merging the Dunning article into this one will asist readers by helping to locate relevant AFPPS information in one place.
This article is reasonably long but not too long to accommodate additional information on Dunning's murder. I have already added the key facts from the Dunning article to this one and don't envisage that a successful merger would add that many more lines. If the merger proceeds Adam Dunning would redirect to Australian Federal Police Protective Service.
Other views and opinions welcome. Euryalus (talk) 11:25, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have now also noticed that most of the Adam Duning article is a copyvio from a piece in The Age about the new training complex. I have reworded the copyright material and included the relevant bits in this article under "Peacekeeping". This done, I have redirected the Adam Dunning page to here.
