Talk:Australian American

[edit] Criteria
What exactly are the criteria for being listed as Australian American - I'm thinking of the actors in particular. There are plenty of Australian born people working on American film and TV. Is U.S. citizenship the determining factor? - Matthew238 (talk) 04:17, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- While the criteria are not exactly clear, I propose to use a table to assist with WP:Verifiability and to allow the reader to decide. Format of the table is
{| class="wikitable" |- ! name !! Born - Died!!Notable for!!Connection with Australia!!Connection with America |- | [[Jacques Nasser]]||1947- ||former CEO of [[Ford Motors]]|| born Lebanon but raised in Australia ||lived in US as CEO of major US company |- |[[Rupert Murdoch]]||1931- ||CEO of [[News Corporation]]||born Australia||in 1985 Murdoch became a naturalized citizen of the United States |}
ie:
name | Born - Died | Notable for | Connection with Australia | Connection with America |
---|---|---|---|---|
Jacques Nasser | 1947- | former CEO of Ford Motors | born Lebanon but raised in Australia | lived in US as CEO of major US company |
Rupert Murdoch | 1931- | CEO of News Corporation | born Australia | in 1985 Murdoch became a naturalized citizen of the United States |
I would expect all references to be in the person's article. There is no reference for Nasser's citizenship but there is enough information in the table for the reader to decide whether or not he is an American Australian on the facts in the article. Murdoch is more clear.--Matilda talk 23:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
