Australia is an established automobile manufacturer and exporter, both building engines and designing their own vehicles. In addition to the countries' booming industry, Australia has a massive racing scene including V8 Supercars and Formula 1 racing. Australia is home to such cars as the Ford Falcon, Holden Commodore, and Toyota Aurion.

Australia has been responsible for many innovations in the automobile industry, such as the invention of the ute; and the production of some of the fastest cars ever made. Examples include the Ford GTHO and several HSVs.
