Australian Sport Awards

The Australian Sport Awards are the annual awards for Australian sports people administered by the Confederation of Australian Sport.
The awards commenced in 1980 with the male and female athlete of the year, young male and female athlete of the year, young Australian team of the year, coach of the year and sports executive of the year. In 2006 there were 22 awards for individuals, teams, masters and disabled athletes, sporting organizations and media. The highest award in the Dawn Fraser award, first given in 2000, the award is presented by Fraser to an Australian who has achieved international success in sport and who has made a significant contribution to the Australian community.
