Australian Military Forces

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian Military Forces (AMF) was the official name of the military of Australia from 1916 onwards [1]. This encompassed both regular (full-time) and militia or Citizens Military Forces (part-time). Initially this also included the Australian Flying Corps as part of the Australian Imperial Forces until the formation of the Royal Australian Air Force in 1921 [2]. The land forces of Australia were renamed the Australian Army in 1980 [3].
