Australian Energy Market Commission

The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) is an Australian Government body setup to make the rules for, to develop and to reform the Australian National Electricity Market. The commission works together with the Australian Energy Regulator who enforce the rules created it.
The Ministerial Council on Energy estalished the commission in July 2005, under the Australian Energy Market Commission Establishment Act 2004 and it is managed by three commissioners.[1]
