Australian College of Midwives

The Australian College of Midwives is the professional organisation representing midwives and midwifery policy in Australia.
Its main work is in:
- Providing a unified political voice for the midwifery profession
- Supporting midwives to reach their full potential
- Ensuring all childbearing women have access to continuity of care by a known midwife
- Setting professional practice and education standards across Australia.
It is a Federated body consisting of eight separate State and Territory Branches that make up the National College. It is based in Canberra, Australia.
Its President as of January 2007 is Prof. Pat Brodie and its Executive Officer is Dr. Barbara Vernon.
