Australian Church

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian Church (1884-1957) was founded by Dr. Charles Strong at Melbourne in 1884. [1] Strong was a Presbyterian minister who, previously, had been charged with heresy because of his liberal theology.[1] The Australian Church had a firm commitment to social justice and had been active in the anti-conscription campaigns during World War I.[1] The Australian Church was disbanded in 1957.[1]
