Austin Roberts (singer)

Austin Roberts (born 19 September 1945, Newport News, Virginia) is an American singer. Roberts began his career as lead singer for a number of groups before joining the Buchanan Brothers. He later became the lead singer for the Arkades.

With record producer Danny Janssen, Roberts worked on music for two Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoons, Josie and the Pussycats and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, for which he sang the "chase songs" used during Scooby's second season.

His most successful single was "Rocky" which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975; a close runner-up was the hit "Something's Wrong With Me", written by Danny Janssen and Bobby Hart, which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972. Roberts and Hart later wrote the song "Over You" for the 1983 film, Tender Mercies; "Over You" was nominated for the 1984 Academy Award for Best Original Song. «Keep on singing» (Helen Reddy version) was another important hit of Austin Roberts. He was a member of the group Arkade, which had two Billboard Top 100 hits in 1970-71, including the Easy Listening crossover "The Morning Of Our Lives".
