The company built the Lake Michigan Lake Express and the Hawaii Superferry. A second 107 m (351 ft) vehicle-passenger catamaran for Hawaii Superferry is currently under construction. Austal USA is also currently constructing two Littoral Combat Ships for the US Navy, based on a 127 m (417 ft) advanced trimaran seaframe.[2]
The National Geographic Channel series MegaStructures featured an episode in September of 2007 that detailed the construction, launch, and sea trials of the Hawaii Superferry.[3]
