The Aurgelmir is a fictional robot in the Super Robot Wars series. It has appeared as an enemy unit in Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden. The Aurgelmir's name is derived from the name of the father of the frost giants in Norse mythology, Ymir.
[edit] Appearance
The Aurgelmir is an odd and frightening machine. It looks like the body of a giant female from the stomach up dressed in a black dress and has a blue face. The lower body looks like a giant tentacle that reaches from the lower stomach area and is coiled on the ground. The Aurgelmir has odd "shadow" wings as well.
[edit] Technical And Historical
After Sophia Nate was injected with Machine Cells and the Magus System took over her body, Magus came to life. The Magus System's job was protect the Earth. However, it came to the conclusion that the reason the Earth suffers is because of its people. In its plan to defeat all humans, Magus uses the Aurgelmir. The Aurgelmir is made from many Machine Cells and is Magus' personal unit. It uses the Astranagant as a black box. It is unknown how it ever came to obtain the Astranagant, but it has it stored inside its body.
It has been suggested since the release of Super Robot Wars Alpha 3, that rather than the damaged Astranagant encountering the Balmarian, Ayin, and absorbing his machine, it instead continued to drift and reached Earth where it encountered the Aurgelmir and was absorbed by it and was released when it was destroyed before encountering Ayin.
