Gertrude "Trudy" Hardy is a fictional character in The Hardy Boys book series by Franklin W. Dixon. She is the aunt of Frank and Joe Hardy (the Hardy Boys of the title).
Gertrude Hardy is the late-middle-aged (given as 65 in volume 10) spinster sister of Fenton Hardy. Tall, angular, sharp-tongued and peppery, she is constantly visiting the Hardy household (in fictitious Bayport, New York) unannounced and taking over, while criticizing everything in sight. Eventually she moved into the Hardy home, apparently without any objection from reliably unresisting Laura Hardy. Although described as "secretly adoring" the Hardy Boys, however, she does not show her appreciation of them often. She was known to have a peppery temper and on more than one occasion to go "on the warpath". She owns an old Volkswagen Beetle. In the Undercover Brothers series she goes by Trudy, and sometimes Frank and Joe call her Aunt T.
