Aulus-les-Bains is a commune in the Ariège department in southwestern France.
Situated at the head of the valley Garbet and beneath Guzet Neige ski resort, the village is best known for the thermal springs and spa complex. There are several belle epoque buildings, some still offering hotel accommodation. The village is very popular in winter for skiing and in the summer for walking and cycling. The local beauty spot and waterfall, the cascade d'Ars is 1hr walk from the village. Cyclists can climb the Col de Latrappe or the Col d'Agnes directly from the village. Bike hire is available at [1] and accommodation can be found at the Hotel Oustalet, Hotel Ousailles, Hotel Terrasse or the Grand Hotel. There are also two gite d'etapes: the Presbytere and La Goulue. Local amenties include a bar/cafe, a pizzeria/health food restaurant, a tabac/presse, a mini supermarket, post office and butchers shop.
