No mention here. Ture Rangström wrote a melodramatic opera on this work (along with a ballet for Miss Julie), both of which which have been beautifully filmed for TV.

[edit] English title?

Hello, I'd like to know the english title of one of Strindberg's novels. In Romanian (my native language) it's something like "The Blessed Island", or "The island of the blessed". It's about some swedes that leave their country by a boat that sinks and leaves them on a tropical paradise There, they form a sort of utopian society. After the tropical paradise sinks (it is a volcano), they are forced to go to some cold region, where the hardship makes them re-invent social hierarchy, religion, etc (all the institutions of our society).
