General Augustus Pearl Martin (b. Abbot, Maine November 23, 1835 - d. Dorchester, Massachusetts 1902) was an American politician from Massachusetts who served as mayor of Boston in 1884.

Born in Abbott, Piscataquis County, Maine on November 23, 1835, Augustus Pearl Martin as a General during the American Civil War and was a member of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. He served as the mayor of Boston in 1884. He died in Dorcester, Massachusetts in 1902 and is interred at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

General Martin was lieutenant of the Boston light artillery 1858 to 60, sergeant during the three months campaign in 1861 was commissioned 1st lieutenant 3rd Massachusetts battery Massachusetts volunteers September 5 1861 and captain in November of same year. He was chief of artillery, Morell's division, 1862 and assigned to duty by General Meade as commander of the artillery brigade 5th corps army of the Potomac in May 1863 commissioned brevet colonel at the close of the war for gallant and meritorious services.
He was commander of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company in 1878 commander of the Massachusetts Commandery Military Order of the Loyal Legion U.S. 1879 and 80, chief marshal at the dedication of the monument on Boston Common September 17 1877, chief marshal at the celebration of the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the settlement of Boston September 17 1880, senior aid on the staff of Governor John Davis Long with the rank of brigadier 1882 and of Boston 1884 [1]
