[edit] Character History
Augusta Lockridge was a woman of no moral. During her husband's absence from Santa Barbara, she seduced Joe Perkins and led him to his bedroom.[1] When things got tough, she used blackmail. She was at odds with her mother-in-law Minx Lockridge, but most importantly there was nothing that could bring her down or hurt her. Or at least that was the beginning of her story. When her husband Lionel returned to town, things were about to get tough. Their marriage hadn't been okay for years, and it is when the eartquake hits Santa Barbara that Augusta tells Lionel about her problems.
Augusta was insecure around Lionel. She started suspecting that something weird is going on and she was heavily surprised when she saw her husband talking to a person named Dominic, who later turned out to be her long-time rival Sophia Wayne Armonti, a person that everyone thought was dead.[2] Augusta immediately informed C.C. about it,[3] and later she confronted her husband, which resulted in an old-fashioned food-fight combined with love making.[4] It is then when the marriage takes yet another hard hit.[5] Augusta ended up being a victim of a tunnel cave-in and she suffered from temporary blindness.[6] She found comfort in her milkman Frank Amsted, and later she got a new lover named Joseph. Realizing that there was nothing else for her to do, Augusta left Santa Barbara, leaving the divorce papers for her husband to sign.
Augusta's first return to town happened around the time of the first wedding of her sister Julia and Mason Capwell. Augusta tried to persuade Julia to leave Mason at the altar. She was surprised to learn that Gina DeMott had transformed the Lockridge mansion into a hotel. She found a new lover named T.J. Daniels, but her story ended at that point, and she left town again.
Augusta's second and final return to town was surprising to many citizens. She had married a dangerous mob boss named Anthony Tonnell, who had been trying to murder various citizens around town. When Tonnell himself was murdered, Augusta was one of the suspects. When that story ended, Mason Capwell learned that Warren Lockridge wasn't the son of Augusta and Lionel, but that he was a product of an affair that Augusta had with someone long time ago. Augusta started drinking heavily and then left to a detoxication center.
