August von Kruse

Major-General August von Kruse of Nassau, (modern day Germany), commanded the Nassau infantry brigade at the Battle of Waterloo.[1] Under secret orders from the Duke of Nassau he had placed his brigade under the command of the Duke of Wellington.[2] The brigade was stationed at Hougoumont, where the first action of the Battle of Waterloo took place.[3]
