From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Augarten (literally, floodplain garden) is a public park in Leopoldstadt, 2nd district of Austria's capital Vienna, about 52.2 hectares in size (0.522 square kilometers, circa 0.202 square miles). It is surrounded by a wall, its five gates being opened daily in the very early morning, and closed at nightfall - the season-related specific times being announced on shields at the gates. The area features Vienna's eldest baroque park.
