The 'Metropolitan Auditorium TELMEX' one of the main buildings of the University Cultural Center, also called "Transformer". On July 22, 2007 was officially inaugurated with a major event headed by Placido Domingo. It's Located at 747 Cananea Workers street, Col Villas cradle of Zapopan, Guadalajara, Jalisco.

It is the most modern auditorium in Mexico. It is currently one of the most modern and functional in the world.

For the construction of the auditorium, the University of Guadalajara has been supported by the federal government, the government of Jalisco, the Municipality of Zapopan, the Chamber of Deputies of Congress and the state Congress. In the auditorium 'TELMEX', the spectators can enjoy top quality entertainment, in a forum that can change to get from 2,700 to 11,000 spectators.

The Stage is very versatile because it has elevables platforms and mechanical resources very flexible, as well as a room with variable angles of 100, 73 and 60 degrees using a mobile wall. Besides, if the event requires it you can enjoy a drink or a beer in the comfort of your seat, though smoking is prohibited at all times. There are 48 boxes with underground parking and direct access.

The viewer is furthest from the stage is just 66 metres from it, the stage measured 33 metres.

The Great Auditorium is home to large events, national and international musical concerts of renowned artists, works of theatre, sporting events and endless activities of a high quality, further subsidizes cultural events.
