Thanks for your edits to Auburn University to include the Women's Golf information; please consider adding it to the Auburn Tigers page as well - that page serves to address athletics in detail to keep the main Auburn University article to a manageable size. [edit] License tagging for Image:FootballHornet.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:FootballHornet.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:07, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Roswell High School
Nice job on the article. A bit more work, and I think it should be submitted for GA class review (citations and some additional pictures). You can use non-internet citations, check out Wikipedia:Citation templates for the appropriate one depending on the source (e.g. news, book etc.). It would be nice to have at least one citation per paragraph (for GA status at least). I'll dig around and see if I can find any books that talk about the history of the school and campus. --Roswell native 04:57, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- AUTiger, I'm guessing you didn't mean to remove the rest of the article when added the new section? Check it out, because you may need to revert and start again. Also, do you think you'll be able to quote the non-web sources. Let me know if I can assist. --Roswell native 05:23, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I see you just restored it. --Roswell native 05:24, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
For the citations, try either {{cite book}} or {{Citation}}. Either one should work for now. I'll dig to see if I can find more reliable sources. Does the cookbook itself cite any sources that could be found and used? BTW, check out some Good Article class high schools: Category:GA-Class school articles. It'd be nice to have Roswell at that class. Also might be worth looking at the Featured High School articles as well - Category:FA-Class school articles. I like the way Plano Senior High School has laid out its Athletics section. --Roswell native 05:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Wow man, I absolutely love your work on the RHS article, the football section is great! Cooldude7273 01:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll see if I can find a few more for the history and campus as well. For the sports section, I think you have the right plan to only highlight notable events and their correspond sports. With the idea of "Good Article" status in the future, writing the info into paragraphs rather than having a bulleted list is the preferred style (e.g. Plano Senior High School and All the sports with only one notable event could be grouped in an "Other Sports" section perhaps? Also, it would be great to cite sources for those accomplishments. The Football one should be pretty easy given the coverage this year in local papers.
Same for the clubs, I like the way Bellaire High School (Bellaire, Texas) has done their section as sentences instead of a link. What you think? --Roswell native 03:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree about the bullets personally, but if the article is ever put up for GA Review the list sticks out like sore thumb and will be at top of the reviewers "fix list". If getting the RHS page to GA status interests you, check out Wikipedia:Good_article_candidates, especially the articles that are on hold, read the talk pages to see what changes reviewers request. I have found it very helpful (I'm working on Ty Cobb right now in fact).
How about a table like this for those teams such as football and Gymnastics that have won more than one state championship? It would have to be tailored per sport of course.
Football State Championship Games
Year | Winning Team | Losing Team | Location (all in Georgia) | Class
1956 | Monticello | Roswell | C
1968 | Roswell | Irwin County | B
1970 | Roswell | Warren County | A
2006 | Roswell Peachtree Ridge |
14 | N/A | 14 | McEachern High School, Powder Springs | 5A |
For the clubs, maybe a four column table? Still a list but more efficient use of page space?
Also, pictures are really needed for this article. As it sounds like you are a recent grad, if you still know folks at the school perhaps you could recruit the yearbook or Sting staff/advisor to take some freely licensed photographs and upload them to WikiPedia Commons for use in the article? I can help with uploading, but my photography skills leave much to be desired. --Roswell native 05:51, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- I am a student at the school... Cooldude7273 22:17, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
AUburnTiger, the page is really starting to look good. Thanks for all the work on it - the tables really look good. I just noticed another High School just failed GA review, Lowell High School (San Francisco) - check out its talk page for why it failed. --Roswell native 02:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Good job on the pics! --Roswell native 03:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
I'll try to give the article a thorough look in the next week or so. But two things that I can see right now are the lead paragraph (see WP:LEAD for suggestions on improving) and the refs need to be more frequent throughout the article - one per paragraph is a good target. --Roswell native 03:08, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Harry Potter
By evidence in Chapter 16 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, do you mean when they visit the graves of his parents and it says when they died? I would appreciate a reply, it would help clear things up a bit!
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:RHSCrest.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:RHSCrest.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:21, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RHS Rankings
How are you getting a hold of the RHS/AJC rankings before they are posted on Mondays? Cooldude7273 19:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ah ok, I guess I'm just going to bed too early then! Did you mean to put our rankings at number 9 for this next week yet? Cooldude7273 04:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Do you think we (you?) should include the play off bracket [1] in there? Round 2 could be scary. RHS vs. North Cobb (which is what I'm betting on) doesn't look too good. NC is 10-0 on the season! Cooldude7273 20:41, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Gymdisplay.jpg
Hi AUburnTiger!
We thank you for uploading Image:Gymdisplay.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

[edit] Rosswell High School
Why was the football schedule I made removed from Roswell High School? And perhaps you could go over what is wrong with the article so I can fix it?--AUburnTiger (talk) 07:33, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Because IMHO it just isn't of note to a broader audience. Weikipedia is not the place for schedules of high school football games or predictions about the next season. Such things just aren't encyclopedic. As far as the big issues, I went through and fixed many of them. There's probably a lot I missed so it would be great if we could collaborate to further improve the article to the GA status that it is readily approaching. When I get a chance I'll make a few more general suggestions for improvement. the citations you added are a great start though. Adam McCormick (talk) 17:33, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
