[edit] Licensing
This file is in the public domain, because this United States work entered the public domain prior to January 1, 1978. This image was taken from a pictorial booklet published by the City of Auburn in 1937. The work lacked a notice of copyright, and so under the Copyright Act of 1909 copyright failed to attach to the work. No attempt to establish copyright was made between publication and 1978. The booklet was thus in the public domain as of January 1, 1978, and so under the 1976 Copyright Act the booklet and pictures therin remain in the public domain (see U.S. Copyright Office, Copyright Basics, Publication).
