- This is the third TVB series warehoused and only released for rental in 2006 after Trimming Success and Vagabond Vigilante.
- Cheung Kin Man is the producer of the series. His previous productions include Lost in the Chamber of Love, Into Thin Air and Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion.
- Maggie Cheung was originally slated to film in this series. She even attended the costume fitting of the series. Unfortunately, after only one day of filming, she was pulled out of the series because she has been diagnosed with the rare Graves' Disease.
- Kenix Kwok was considered to replace Maggie Cheung but she rejected the role. Rumors have been stating that the reason is because Kenix refused to be called the "second choice".
- Cecilia Yip was later considered for the role but again, she could not participate in this series due to schedule conflicts.
- In the end, it was Anne Heung who replace Maggie Cheung in this series.
- Sonija Kwok was also originally slated to film as Shirley Yeung's character but was later replaced and only appear as a guest role.
- This is second time for Anne Heung to be considered as a "second choice" after 2003's Riches and Stitches which was originally Sonija Kwok's series (Maggie Cheung was considered for the role before Sonija but she was uninterested with the role and eventually rejected to be a part of the series).
- This series has been criticized by many as the worst TVB series in 2006 although Anne Heung is praised for her outstanding improvement in acting.
- Anne Heung studied Gong Li's previous performance in order to fit in the role.
- Eddy Ko's role as Gu Changcheng was presumably known to direct to Shanghai Gang Leader Du Yuesheng and Gu Changcheng did possess many similarities to Du and the year 1936 which the plot was set, Du left Shanghai but during that time he was the biggest gang leader of Shanghai!
- Some viewers say that the time frame was incorrect and the plot did not comprehend with the time when the Sino-Japanese hostilities then.
