From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi! My name is Atyndall and I have been editing Wikipedia since 2006 (but have only taken a serious interest in it since the start of 2008).
About me
I try to dedicate as much time as possible to Wikipedia but because of schooling, will not be very active during weekdays, even so I will get in about 0.5-1.5 hours a weekday and around 6-9 hours over the weekend. I enjoy using Wikipedia because of the vast amounts of information it provides and the intriguing behind-the-scenes politics involved in the co-ordination of a project this big.
My role on Wikipedia
I have many roles on Wikipedia as I am trying to gain enough experience to become an administrator. To keep organized I allocated each day of the week to a different task, my roles can be seem below and at the top of all of my userpages:
- Monday: Recent changes patroller - I am reverting vandalism using Huggle, reporting continuous vandalism to AIV.
- Tuesday: AfD Participant - I give my opinions on what articles should and shouldn't be deleted by interpreting policy and guidelines.
- Wednesday: see Monday
- Thursday: Help and Reference desk helper - I help people with Wikipedia and Computer Science related problems when possible.
- Friday: Article Writer - I browse the WikiProject Computer Science, WikiProject Computing and WikiProject Macintosh and choose an article that for the next month I will try and write up to the good article standard. For current and previous articles see here.
- Saturday: Mediation Cabal - I act as a mediator for people experiencing seeking dispute resolution.
- Sunday: Bot planning/building - I am working on creating a task for AtyndallBot, a PHP bot that I will create.
