Atys is a genus of small sea snails which have a shell that is light and translucent, and can sometimes resemble a bubble in shape. Because of this, this genus is commonly known as the Atys bubble shells and it is in the family Haminoeidae.
These are marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusks. All the species within this genus are herbivores.
The genus was named after Atys, a king mentioned in ancient greek texts.
