Atwater Hill

Atwater Hill (66°11′S, 66°38′W) is a hill 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of Benedict Point on the east side of Lavoisier Island, Biscoe Islands. Mapped from air photos by Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (FIDASE) (1956-57). Named by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Wilbur O. Atwater (1844-1907), American physiologist who, with F.G. Benedict, perfected the technique for calorimetric measurement of metabolism.
