ATV Offroad Fury 2 is the second racing video game in the ATV Offroad Fury series, developed by Rainbow Studios and released in November 9, 2002. [edit] Gameplay
Expanding from its predecessor, ATV Offroad Fury 2 features more ATVs (including Ravage Talons), along with more vehicles, mini-games, championships, and others. The ATVs do not suffer damage, but their occupants are vulnerable to dismounts from ATVs, if the vehicle lands poorly or another racer lands on the player. The game also features new point-earning tricks, as well as championships where players can earn profile points for each race completed. Completing championships will unlock a new event such as Freestyle events, which objective the players must complete within the time limit. The game also offers minigames.
ATV Offroad Fury 2 is also the first installment in the series to offer online play, which allows players to challenge other players over an online network (including a set of Lobbies), connected via i-Link (FireWire), local area network (LAN) or other network connections.
[edit] Stunts
The range of stunts featured in ATV Offroad Fury 2 are typically activated by tapping a combination of buttons while the player's ATV is in the air, to activate stunt-based combo moves. These include simple two-button variations, which involve standard action buttons or shoulder buttons, followed by a D-pad button, such as the "Nac Nac" (circle→up buttons) to more complex three button ("Tsunami," via L1→circle→left buttons) and four button moves ("Heart Attack Indian Air," L1→circle→triangle→up).
Each set of tricks also require a different amount of time to perform. The "One Handed Indian Air," (activated using the L1→triangle→up buttons) for example, requires that the player launch himself from a giant ramp in order to execute the stunt on time before it lands on the ground, or risk being thrown off the ATV if the stunt fails. Performing the same tricks will take away half of the stunt original score, discouraging repetition of stunts.

[edit] Minigames
- Tag - Within a limited time, a group of ATV racers attempt to grab hold of a bouncing ball to collect points, while avoiding other ATVs. The weight of the ball will slow down the player's ATV speed, allowing the opponents to steal the ball. The racer with the most accumulated points wins.
- Hockey - Similar to the real-life game of ice hockey, where two teams, or two opposing players, must battle to push a hockey puck into the rival's goal. The team with the most goals within the time limit wins.
- King Of The Hills - Some of the jump hills are lit, and players must achieve the highest points. If the other opponent scores more points than the player has accumulated, then the color changes. The first player who claimed the most hills is the winner. If a tie occurs, the racers' stunt points determines the winner.
- Treasure Hunt - The player must collect a present tokens within a limited time. If the player gets all the tokens, another set of tokens will be available. The game ends when the tokens or time run out. A tie breaker will count how much points the racers collect through stunts.
[edit] Online Play
ATV Offroad Fury 2 will no longer be able to be played online starting August 1st, 2007. Sony is shutting down the servers, most likely due to the lack of people that still play this game online.
